Abel-Meholah
Meaning - meadow of dancing or the dancing-meadow
Abel-meholah was named in conjunction with the flight of the Gideons (Jdg 7:22). It also became part of Solomon's fifth district. It is the birthplace and home of the prophet Elisha. This was where Elisha was found at his plow by Elijah (1 Kings 19:16).
Location - in the Jordan Valley, south of Beth-shean near where the Wadi el-Maleh emerges into the Jordan. The place is now called 'Ain Helweh.
