Meaning - place of reeds
A town of Galilee, near Capernaum. It was here that Jesus performed his first miracle, by turning water into wine (John 2:1-11; 4:46). Cana was also the birth-place of Nathanael (Joh 21:2).
It is commonly believed to be associated with Khirbet Kana, a ruined site about 14 kilometers north of Naazareth.
