Dibon
Meaning - pining
A city of Moab (Modern Dhiban) to the east of the Dead Sea. It is mentioned by Ramesses II, who claimed to have captured it. It was later captured by the Israelites and given to Reuben and Gad. It was given the name Dibon-gad. It was later taken by Mesha, king of Moab and mentioned on the Moabite stone.
There is also a city in Judah with this name as well.
