Emmaus

A village "sixty furlongs" (11 kilometers) from Jerusalem. The place Cleopas and another disciple were journeying when Jesus appeared to them on the day of His resurrection (Luke 24:13).

The exact location of it is still debated among three possible sites: Modern el-Kubeibeh, lying over 7 miles north-west of Jerusalem. Modern Khurbet Khamasa "the ruins of Khamasa", about 8 miles south-west of Jerusalem. "Colonia" approximately four miles west of Jerusalem, on the east-west road that traverses the Hill Country.
