Message From The Stars

The Mazzaroth

The Mazzaroth is the Hebrew Zodiac containing the 12 signs, revealing an extraordinary message written in the stars.

Signs in the Heavens

Most people associate the Zodiac with astrology, but the Bible identifies it as the "Mazzaroth" or Hebrew version of the Zodiac. The Hebrew names reveal what this is all about. Long before the Pentateuch was written, the Hebrew names were used by the ancients to tell the story of the Gospel message. This was all corrupted at the Tower of Babel and attributed to Nimrod. It was the beginning of what we now know as astrology (the Tower of Babel's construction actually had to do with astrology).

Most of us are familiar with the pictures or figures represented by the constellations. When we look at these figures, we see no resemblance as to what they are about. We can find the answer to this mystery by understanding the meaning of the names of the stars in Hebrew. To start the process, we can begin at the Sphinx, which means to bind closely together (the head of a woman and the body of a lion). So this points us to the constellations Virgo and Leo.

The Heavens Declare the Glory of God - Psalm 19

We see in Psalm 147:4 and Isaiah 40:26 that the stars were all named by God. Interestingly, the Bible tells us the reasons for the stars in Genesis 1:14

And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years.

Remarkably, the twelve signs in the Zodiac are the same throughout the ancient world including Chaldean, Egyptian, and even Chinese. It is is made up of constellations that follow the apparent path of the sun in the sky, called the "ecliptic". Therefore, the sun, our moon, and the planets all follow the ecliptic. It is divided into twelve zones or signs. This is where we get the twelve signs of the zodiac. However, each Sign in the Zodiac also has 3 Decans iassociated with it. So, we have a total of 48 associated constellations.

VIRGO

Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel - Isaiah 7:14

In Virgo, we have a maiden with a branch in her right hand and ears of corn in her left hand. This constellation tells of a virgin bearing a son called "the branch who shall come down".

Virgo - Johann Bayer - Uranometria 1603

Therefore, Virgo represents a Virgin, the Promised Seed of the Woman (Gen 3:15). The Hebrew name is Bethulah, which means virgin (Isaiah 7:14 - "Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel"). The branch in her right hand is represented by Spica (in the latin), the brightest star, which means "ear of corn". In Hebrew, the star is "tsemech" means "branch" (actually there are 20 Hebrew words that mean branch), only tsemech is used exclusively of the Messiah. In Arabic the entire constellation is called a branch. As the scriptures declare a branch shall grow out of the root of David.

The second star (Beta) or Zavijaveh in Hebrew means "Gloriously beautiful" (see Is 4:2)

The third star (Epsilon) Vindemiatrix means - son, who cometh. The Hebrew is Al Mureddin meaning - who shall have dominion.

To put the picture together - Isaiah 4:2 says:
“In that day shall the branch of the Lord be beautiful and glorious,”

Decans:

Coma - "The desired one"

Centaurus - "the despised" Key star is Alpha Centauri (Heb is Toliman), the heretofore and the hereafter Rev 1:8 - The Alpha and the Omega.

Bootes - "The coming one" Key stars are Arcturus - "He cometh" Al Katurops - "treading under foot" Nekka - "The pierced"

LEO

Leo represents the Lion of the tribe of Judah, that is the Messiah. "I Am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last" Rev 1:11. We see Leo rising ahead of the Virgin, the seed of the woman (Virgo) the righteous branch. His feet prepare to pounce on the head of the serpent (Hydra).

When He returns again, it will be in the splendor of mighty king who will rule and have dominion over the entire world. He will tread upon His enemies in fulfillment of God's promise.

Leo - Johann Bayer - Uranometria 1603

Associated Stars and their meanings:

Alpha: Regulas, treading under foot

Denebola, the judge cometh

Deneb Aleced, the judge shall reign Num 24:8.9, Rev 5:5-10

Leo can be connected two ways. The alternate is a walking lion.

Decans:

Hydra- "the Fleeing Serpent"

Crater "the Cup (of Fire)"

Corvus - "the Raven"

Hydra

Hydra - Johann Bayer - Uranometria 1603

Hydra is the "Fleeing Serpent" and longest of all the constellations, who's head is under Leo's paws and tail extends under Virgo's feet.

Gen 3:15 "And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel." NKJ

Conclusion

As Psalm 19 says "the heavens declare the glory of God", we see evidence that God created the heavens and earth with His plan for redemption in place, even before Adam. The names of the constellations have been corrupted from ancient pagan traditions that distort the gospel message.

The practice of astrology is commonly associated with the New Age, but actually came from the Babylonians. Additionally, its practice was even a capital crime in ancient Israel. Today, there are a growing number of people who rely on astrology. Despite the fact that there is absolutely no proof that it works, people continue to rely on their horoscopes, published in most major news papers. It is interesting that Adolph Hitler relied on it, causing him to make fatal mistakes, which turned out to be a significant advantage for the Allies. Unfortunately, what God intended with Mazzaroth to declare His glory has become a demonic corruption of His Word.
